550-Please turn on SMTP Authentication in your mail client, or login to the 550-IMAP/POP3 server before sending your message
Error Message:
SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<[email protected]>: host mx1.hosting.com [72.xx.xxx.2x2]:
550-Please turn on SMTP Authentication in your mail client, or login to the
550-IMAP/POP3 server before sending your message. abc.hostingx.com
550-[2x6.x2x.2xx.xx]:48960 is not permitted to relay through this server without
550 authentication. Why are all my mails bouncing with this error message?
This bounce message means that your mail has not been authenticated i.e. SMTP Authentication has not taken place with an email address and password.
This is a security measure which lets other servers know that the mail was sent without authentication with a password. This may mean that the mail was spoofed or is not from whom it claims to be and it is not traceable back to the actual sender.
This means that you will need to authenticate all mails with SMTP Authentication.
Possible reasons for getting this bounce message are:
You have not enabled SMTP Authentication in your email client.
What should I do so that I can resume normal mailing?
Enable SMTP Authentication in your email client.
It is usually an option with "Turn on SMTP Authentication" or "My outgoing server requires authentication"
